Custom gravity die casting, made in Morocco and delivered to Africa and Europe

Gravity die casting pours aluminium by gravity into a permanent metal mould: it gives a finer structure, better soundness and a superior surface finish to sand, at a tooling cost well below pressure die casting. It suits housings, hydraulic and pneumatic bodies, valve components, engine brackets and T6-treated structural parts.

Network foundries make the die, cast, heat treat and finish machine. The quote is manual, with die cost and part price by quantity break; the DSSF engineer validates wall thickness, draft and core positions before launch.

Gravity die casting

Materials

AlSi7Mg (EN AC-42100) for T6-treated structural parts, AlSi9Cu3 (EN AC-46000) for general parts; other alloys on request.

  • Aluminium AlSi7Mg (EN AC-42100)
  • Aluminium AlSi9Cu3 (EN AC-46000)

DFM rules

  • Wall 3 to 6 mm; draft 1° to 2°; radii ≥ 2 mm.
  • Undercuts possible with sand cores or slides, at tooling cost.
  • T6 heat treatment available on AlSi7Mg; specify it for structural parts.
  • ISO 8062 CT7 to CT9 tolerances; finish machining on functional faces.

Quality and documents

Initial samples with dimensional report; radiography on critical zones, leak test and heat certificate as options.

Related finishes

  • Bead blasting
  • Anodizing (aluminium)
  • Powder coating

Capacities, series and lead times shown are orders of magnitude matching the network target; they are confirmed on each quote according to the selected shop. No prices are displayed on these pages.

Frequently asked questions

Gravity die or pressure die: how to choose?
Gravity die suits medium series, thick-walled, pressure-tight or heat-treated parts; pressure die suits high volumes with thin walls.
Are gravity die castings pressure tight?
Generally yes, with good soundness; impregnation can be planned for demanding hydraulic bodies.
What tolerance in gravity die casting?
ISO 8062 CT7 to CT9; seats, bores and sealing faces are finish machined.
How long does a die last?
Tens of thousands of pours depending on geometry and maintenance; the die belongs to the customer once paid.
