Manual quote

Custom sand casting, made in Morocco and delivered to Africa and Europe

Sand casting is the most versatile foundry route: it accepts every castable grade, from one-offs to medium series, and parts from a few hundred grams to several hundred kilos. It is preferred for housings, frames, pump and valve bodies, pulleys, counterweights and wear parts in mining, rail and water industries.

Network foundries work in green sand, chemically bonded sand and cold-box cores, with wooden, resin or 3D-printed patterns for prototypes. The manual quote separates pattern, rough casting, finish machining and inspection.

Sand casting

Materials

GG25 grey iron, EN-GJS-400/500 ductile iron, cast steel, AlSi7Mg, CuSn12 bronze; other grades depending on foundry.

  • Stainless 316L
  • Aluminium AlSi7Mg (EN AC-42100)
  • Ductile iron EN-GJS-400
  • Cast steel GS-45 / GE240
  • Bronze CuSn12
  • Cast iron GG25

DFM rules

  • Wall ≥ 4 mm (aluminium) and ≥ 5 to 6 mm (iron, steel); gradual transitions.
  • Draft 1° to 3°; avoid isolated heavy sections (shrinkage).
  • Machining allowance 2 to 5 mm depending on size; ISO 8062 CT10 to CT13 tolerances.
  • Cores: provide core prints and vents; limit blind cavities.

Quality and documents

Visual and dimensional inspection included; heat certificate, hardness, dye penetrant, ultrasonic or radiographic testing depending on part class.

Related finishes

  • Bead blasting
  • Powder coating
  • Industrial wet paint
  • Shot blasting

Capacities, series and lead times shown are orders of magnitude matching the network target; they are confirmed on each quote according to the selected shop. No prices are displayed on these pages.

Frequently asked questions

What accuracy in sand casting?
ISO 8062 CT10 to CT13 depending on size; functional faces are machined with a 2 to 5 mm allowance.
Can a single part be cast?
Yes: a 3D-printed pattern or printed sand mould avoids a wooden pattern for one-offs and obsolete spare parts.
Which defects are checked?
Shrinkage, porosity, inclusions and cracks, by systematic visual inspection and, where required, dye penetrant, ultrasonic or radiographic testing.
Who keeps the pattern?
The pattern belongs to the customer once paid and is stored at the foundry for reorders, with an annual inventory.
