Custom high-pressure die casting, made in Morocco and delivered to Africa and Europe

High-pressure die casting injects molten alloy at high speed into a steel die: it produces thin-walled, accurate parts with little finishing, at high rates. It is the process for electronic housings, heat sinks, motor covers, handles and cosmetic parts in aluminium or zinc alloy.

The die is the bulk of the investment: the DSSF engineer recommends validating geometry with a machined or gravity-cast prototype before launching it. The manual quote details tooling, part price by quantity break, finish machining and surface treatment.

High-pressure die casting

Materials

AlSi9Cu3 (EN AC-46000) and AlSi12 for aluminium, zamak 5 for small cosmetic and hardware parts.

  • Aluminium AlSi9Cu3 (EN AC-46000)
  • Zamak 5 (ZnAl4Cu1)

DFM rules

  • Uniform wall 1.5 to 4 mm; draft 1° to 2° (aluminium), 0.5° to 1° (zinc).
  • Inherent internal porosity: no pressure tightness or welding without impregnation.
  • ISO 8062 CT5 to CT7 tolerances; inserted or machined threads.
  • Die cost dominates: validate geometry with a machined or gravity-cast prototype.

Quality and documents

Initial samples with dimensional report and appearance check; radiography, leak testing and PPAP for automotive as options.

Related finishes

  • Anodizing (aluminium)
  • Powder coating

Capacities, series and lead times shown are orders of magnitude matching the network target; they are confirmed on each quote according to the selected shop. No prices are displayed on these pages.

Frequently asked questions

From what quantity is pressure die casting worthwhile?
Generally from several thousand parts per year, depending on die size; below that, gravity die or machining are compared in the quote.
Can a die casting be welded or heat treated?
Rarely: internal porosity limits welding and T6 treatment; vacuum processes exist for structural parts, on consultation.
Which finishes?
Shot blasting, powder coating, technical anodising (limited appearance on die-cast alloys), chrome plating on zamak.
What tolerances?
ISO 8062 CT5 to CT7 as cast; precise bores and mating faces are machined.
